Cruise rout: Bergen - Floro - Alesund - Tronheim - Bodo
A fantastic trip from Bergen to Bodø along the Norwegian fjord coast!
Our trip starts in BERGEN and ends in Bodo with around 600 Nm to sail.
This stage's main goal is to combine sailing, hiking and sightseeing of Norwegian fiords. Without a doubt we will visit Bryggen, the historical district of the city, and also the city's famous fish market. If only time allows, we might also visit the local sealife exhibition or use the railway to get to Floyen mountain that overlooks Bergen, where you can admire a beautiful view of the city and its surroundings. In this trip we will experience what is most beautiful in Norway, a country famous for it's staggering landscapes combining breath-taking mountain ranges with the astonishing beauty of the sea.
We will have an opportunity to visit a lot of interesting places on Norwegian Sea. Places we plan to see are Floro, Alesund, Molde, Kristiansund, Holland fjord with the Svartisen Glacier Trondheim and Bodo in the end. Each trip we’ll find some new places but it is, of course, dependent on the weather and timetable. Depending on the weather, we’ll either go via the sea, or travel closer to the islands and in the fjords. Due to the Gulf Stream, the water is relatively warm, whereas in Antarctica at this latitude, there would be ice, what we had experience a year ago..
We sail here in the breeding season and we will see thousands of seabirds, including gannets and puffins. An maybe some sea eagles we meet here.
One of the special atractions of the trip will be crossing Arctic Circle (66º 30’N), which is a party worthy. Stop over in Narvik will be a great opportunity to us to commemorate this historical places connected with our compatriots' war activities. Sailing through these very interesting waters will give opportunity to learn and expand the knowledge and sailing skills, especially in terrestrial navigation and sailing tidal waters. For those who want to get higher sailing degrees there is a great opportunity to practice.
