Cruise From Kopiec Kościuszki do Mount Kosciuszko

The first stage of the around the world expedition was named “From Kopiec Kościuszki to Mount Kosciuszko”. We started the expedition in Kraków rafting down the Wisła to Gdańsk and further on we sailed in Nashachata to Auckland, New Zealand.
During this stage we sailed round Cape Horn for the first time. We also visited Arctowski Arctic Station. Then through the Atlantic to Cape Town and through the Indian Ocean to the Antipodes. In Australia on Mount Kosciuszko we left a handful of soil we brought from Kopiec Kościuszki.
We spent the autumn and winter of 2009 on the South Pacific Ocean, Melanesia, sailing around Vanatu Archipelago and the Solomon Islands. We finished the season in Picton, New Zealand where we passed through Cook Strait and Tory Channel. Nashachata was renovated in Tauronga, New Zealand, during 2009/2010.
During this stage 176 sailors sailed 29,318 miles in total!
